Product Spotlight with Hazelwood

Hello friends! I'm here today with one last product spotlight for 2016! This is a great one - American Crafts Hazelwood by One Canoe Two! It's all sort of wonderful - with butterflies, flowers, bright colors, and amazing patterns. I'm in love!

For my layout I used Far From Home & Flock 12x12 papers. I love the Far From Home paper as it has a school feel and perfect for an end of the semester school picture of my boy! I embellished with accent stickers, phrase thickers, and my favorite embellishment - the enamel triangle stickers!

Now head over to the Paper Issues blog to see what all the other ladies created! One thing I love about these spotlights is that every layout is so different and so fabulous at the same time! Lots of inspiration to be seen! And if you are shopping the Paper Issues store use code RACHEL for 20% off!

Remember December

Our new issue at Paper Issues for the month of December is called Remember December. As soon as I heard the title, I knew exactly what I wanted to scrapbook - my favorite Christmas decorations! My boys have been obsessed with nutcrackers every Christmas season and so last year we each picked one out. I'm the fairy princess of course!

For my layout I started with a Silhouette cut file called Circle Cross Overlay. I then backed the circles with a variety of papers from Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery collection. It's the perfect tradional Christmas collection. The chipboard stickers are fabulous too!

So here are some ideas for your layout: December Daily album pages, winter activities, any December holiday, memorial pages, December holiday traditions, favorite holiday recipe, use snowflakes as an embellishment, etc. And don't forget - once you've created your layout, post it in the Remember December folder in the Paper Issues Friends & Fans group for a chance to win a PI gift card!

I'm playing along with Round 2 which is up on the Paper Issues blog today. If you missed Round 1 you can see it here! Thanks for stopping by & Merry Christmas! XOXO

Product Spotlight: Photo Play My Imagination

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Paper Issues product spotlight on Photo Play Paper's new lines. We have two in the store - My Imagination and Snowball Fight.

I chose My Imagination because if you haven't noticed - we are all about boys at my house! I started with white cardstock and sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mustard. Then I used a free cut file from the Paper Issues shop called Hip to be Square. I backed each square with a different papers from the collection. My favorite 12x12 paper in this collection is the backside of Bold. I added some stickers from the element sheet and a few flairs from A Flair for Buttons. The date stamp at the bottom is always important too!

Don't forget - when you are shopping the Paper Issues store use code RACHEL for 20% off your order! And as always - thanks for stopping by!

Mix It Up Monday

Hi friends! I'm back with another Mix It Up Monday challenge. This month we are challenging you to use more than one medium - paper with paint, sprays, inks, etc. The real challenge is to keep everything black, white, or gray with a pop of color on your layout! I started with a white piece of cardstock and sprayed it with Heidi Swapp black color shine. I then used Bella Blvd Homespun Alpha stamp to stamp the title. I recently purchased this from Paper Issues and I love them! For my pop of color I used Bella Blvd's Oh My Stars line. All of the papers are so fun & bright! Find them here! I embellished the page with enamel stars, ephemera, and flair!

Scraplift Sunday 12/11

This week's Scraplift is a fun banner design from one of our own design team members at Paper Issues! I love lifting other people's layouts because they're often so different in style from my own and it's fun to try new things. I used Photo Play Paper's My Imagination line. You can find it here. My soccer flair is from A Flair for Buttons. You can find this particular one in the Soccer Flair set.

Roll the Dice!

I'm back with the last Roll the Dice challenge of the year and it's a great one! A little bit of a challenge, but I'm always up for one. If you're new to this challenge here's how it works. On of our Design Team members, Danielle, rolls a dice two times. Once for how many photos to use in the layout and secondly, this month for how many different types of alphas must be used. The results are 5 photos (yes, you heard right!) and 4 different alphas.

I used Photo Play Paper's My Imagination line along with Crate Paper's Cool Kid for this layout. The Lego block paper - Determined -  is a must if you little boys who love to build. With a layout that needed so many photos I thought this was the perfect opportunity to document CJ's favorite Lego collections.

Hope you can play along with us this month! If you do, don't forget to enter your layout into the challenge album over at Paper Issues Friends & Fans for a chance to win a PI gift card! xoxo

Take 5 Tuesday

I'm back again with the Paper Issues Take 5 Challenge. These challenges are awesome! Here's how it works - pick 5 items from the list (see below) and create a layout! Easy peasy! For my layout I used a Silhouette cut file called Stained Glass Circles. The paper and embellishments are Crate Paper Cool Kid from the Paper Issues store.

My five were #2 white, #3 green, #6 wood veneer, #12 alpha letters,  and #13 stickers.

My "PLAY" flair is from A Flair for Buttons. I've bought several flair from Shelley and they are fabulous. I highly recommend her shop. Find it on Etsy here

December Pinspire Me

It's time for another Pinspire Me Mood Board and the December one is gorgeous! {see below} It is so easy to be inspired when you look at it!

I used Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery for my layout. You can find it here in the Paper Issues Store. I love this Striped Frame background paper. It's perfect for journaling and makes everything else on the page standout. I chose The Make It Merry cut file from The Cut Shoppe. The title is thickers from Maggie Holme's Gather line.

For my layout I was inspired by the colors and the "Eat, drink and be merry" phrase, but of course with my boys it had to be "Eat and be silly!"

Scraplift Sunday 12/4

Hello December! This season I chose Echo Park's Christmas Delivery for my main Christmas line. It's red & green and everything traditional. I always love the quality of Echo Park's paper. They are thick cardstock and beautiful rich colors. You can find this line here in the Paper Issues store under the Christmas and Holiday section.

This layout is for today's Scraplift Sunday. The use of tags & lots of embellishments make it so fun! If you're looking for Christmas papers and goodies save 20% in the Paper Issues store with code RACHEL! Merry Christmas! xoxo

Cut it Up!

Happy December! I love Christmas and I love cut files ~ so the Cut it Up Saturday challenge is always one of my favorites each month. This month Stacie from our design team created this adorable Snowball cut file and it's FREE in the Paper Issues store under Free Files. If you haven't checked this section out lately you definitely should. There are several new  cut files which work well with the new collections in the store.

For my layout, I used Bella Blvd Holly Jolly Christmas. It's so bright, cheery and fun! I started with Mr. Claus 12x12 paper
and used the cut file on Sweater Weather. The tabbies and tags are a definite must too! I recently picked up the You Are Loved and Homespun Alphabet and I love both of them! To finish the layout, I added enamel hearts and flair from A Flair for Buttons and it's perfect!

Now, head over to today's blog post at Paper Issues to see what the other ladies have created! And if you're shopping in the store use code RACHEL for 20% off your purchase!
