The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone! I'm back with a layout and blog post after a small hiatus. Summer is here and life has gotten kind of busy with birthday parties, swim team for my oldest, and vacations to Hawaii and then to the happiest place on earth! But I'm back and hope to get in the swing of scrapbooking again this week! Today, I am honored (truly!) to be on The Cut Shoppe blog as a guest designer!

For my layout, I scrapbooked my very favorite picture from our vacation to Hawaii! I knew I wanted to use the Crate Paper Oasis collection to create the perfect romantic beachy vibe! I found this collection at Paper Issues!

Now, let's talk The Cut Shoppe. I discovered Ashley and her fabulous Etsy shop almost 2 years ago. I don't remember how, but probably word of mouth - which is the highest compliment! I love her style and the constant addition of new files to play with. I used two different cut files for this layout. First, I downloaded the Spiral Scallop file and played around with it in Cricut Design Space. I sized each circle to fit inside each other and then welded them together before cutting it out. I backed a few of the scallops with pops of pink paper and this made the perfect background. Next, I added my photo, embellishments and gold string! My title from the Summer Vibes cut file was the finishing touch! I love how it turned out! It's my favorite layout I've created in a while!

Love what you see?! Visit The Cut Shop for all your cut file needs! There are easy to use with a Silhouette or Cricut. Need paper and embellishments?! The Paper Issues store is always my go to spot. Use the code FRIENDS for 20% off your purchase there! XOXO

Working Title

Happy Thursday! I'm so excited to share today's layout with you. I'm playing along with Paper Issue's Working Title Challenge. This month the challenge is all about making your title curve! You can get more details in the Paper Issues Facebook group!

For my layout, I mixed Bella Blvd's Make Your Mark and She Blooms collections. I love the colors in both of these lines and they mix together perfectly! The background striped paper as well as the pink paper I cut the large heart from are both from She Blooms.

So here are the details: I cut out the pink heart with my Cricut machine and secured it to the background paper. Then I cut out the small hearts. I used my Cricut again, but this would also work well with a paper punch. Most of the hearts I cut from the Make your Mark 6x8" pad! This kind of design is great for using up scraps too! Next, I folded each heart in half before securing them around the edge of the big heart with tape runner. I then pierced around the heart and hand stitched them to the paper. Then I bent them up to give the page added dimension.

My Lucky Tooth title curves around the bottom of the heart and is perfect for documenting my son's 4th tooth falling out! Love his cute smile! Finally, I added a few hearts, tabs, and enamel dots to finish it off!

Take 5 Tuesday!

Hello May! I played along with Paper Issues Take 5 Tuesday Challenge! For my layout, I wanted to use Crate Paper's Cool Kid collection again. 1) Because it's always my favorite go to boy collection and 2) Paper Issues got a restock of several of the papers and ephemera so I felt like I didn't have to hoard what I had left! Find it here!

I took the 6x6" pad and cut several of the papers in 2" squares. Then I angled them diagonally on white cardstock trying my best to keep the spacing even. (It's not easy! LOL) I secured them with tape runner and then got to work with the embellishments! You can find the Cool Kid ephemera here! I also love these Bella Blvd puffy stars and my happy flair is from my favorite flair shop - A Flair for Buttons!

Want to play along?! Choose 5 things from the list below and then create your layout! I chose 2. blue, 4. cardstock, 8. sticker, 13. patterned paper, and 14. twine! Thank you for stopping by and taking a look! XOXO

New Issue Monday

Happy Monday to you! I'm playing along with round 2 of Paper Issues new issue. This month is called Put the Petal/Pedal to the Metal/Medal! Catchy huh?! I chose to go with petal and metal. I used Pink Paislee's new Sweet Freedom for my layout. It's just been restocked in the Paper Issues store! There's plenty of gorgeous floral patterns in the collection. I also love the added shine with  the bronze stars and ephemera!

Check out today's blog post to get more inspiration! XOXO

Scraplift Sunday

Happy Easter friends! We've got two awesome layouts for you today. My Swag Bag layout was posted earlier this morning and now here is a look at this week's Scraplift Sunday. Isn't it fabulous?!

We are lifting Cat Martin and one of her layouts from our Spring Crop. See the layout here! I had so much fun creating it. I used Pink Paislee Outfitters for mine. It was perfect for this layout because I had a lot of scrap pieces from my 6x6 pad that worked perfectly for the grids. The grids are 2.25" squares. I added lots of ephemera and puffy stickers, and stitched between all the rows! Hope you feel inspired!

Swag Bag Sunday!

Hello Swag Bag Sunday! I have been looking forward to this day for several weeks! I heart these Swag bags so much and making this layout was so much fun! First, lets take a look at March's Swag bag! Fabulous right?!

So for my layout, I had this idea of cutting several of my favorite 3x4 cards from the swag bag up into 1/2" strips and using them for my background! I had no idea if it would actually work (and look good) so I was nervous to try it but I went for it! I then took all the strips of paper and secured them to white cardstock at a diagonal angle. I love the way it turned out!

I then layered my photos with more cards and added some typed journaling and these fabulous star wood pieces. You can find them here! I did all of this with the swag bag and still have so much left! You must grab April's Swag Bag. They don't last long. When you do use my code RACHEL to save 20% off! XOXO
