52 Friday Favorites Catch Up!

Hello friends! I'm here with a different kind of post today. I've got to be honest, and tell you that I stumbled just a bit on my 52 Friday Favorites challenge with Paper Issues. I was gung-ho and dedicated for 6 weeks straight. Then the middle of February hit and I fell flat on my face. So now we're creeping up on the END of March and I was determined to get caught up! And guess what?! It was actually easier than I thought!

So here's what I did. I flipped through my camera roll on my phone and found my favorite photo for week 6. I printed it off and then stuck with the basics - journaling and a little bit of stamping. Nothing fancy, but everything that's important: getting my story down. I continued doing that for the next 5 weeks and I'm so glad I did.  Once I was done I flipped though my travelers notebook and was so happy with all the memories I had captured. Take a look:

Scraplift Sunday!

Good morning and happy Sunday friends! I'm so honored that my layout is up for today's Scraplift Sunday challenge at Paper Issues! To see my original layout click here! So of course, I lifted myself!

I love the new collections from My Minds Eye! For my lift I used Wander. I started with the Bags 12x12 patterned paper and then took the 6x6 pad to cut out my circles with my Cricut. I took my circles and just randomly placed them on the white cardstock. Sometimes I choose to used the whole circle and other times I trimmed them up and placed them on the edge of the cardstock. In the middle I added my photo and that giant chipboard title is the best part!

I hope you love it and will be along with me. Remember - your lift doesn't have to be circles. You can interpret it any way you like. I'll be looking for your layout in our Friends and Facebook group! XOXO

PI Partners Up

Hey friends!!! After a super busy week, I couldn't be happier about the weekend ahead. I think I'll be able to relax and play with paper! Woo hoo! But first, I want to share with you our fun new challenge called PI Partners Up. This month we are partnering with Stuck?! Sketches. You can play along too for a chance to win one of three different prizes. (Sounds great, right?!) Check out their blog post to get all the details!

Here's the sketch:

I took a literal interpretation of the sketch and used My Mind's Eye Blast Off! Find it in the Paper Issues store - here! My favorite pieces are the Take Off 12x12 patterned paper and the chipboard pieces! If you have a boy in your life this line is perfect!

Hope your weekend is awesome and restful and filled with lots of paper! XOXO

Pinspire Me

It's hump day! Can I get a hooray?! I'm here with my first My Mind's Eye Blast Off layout! I'm pretty much a sucker for any boy collection and this one is a great one. Today, I'm playing along with Paper Issues' Pinspire Me challenge. Check out this month's board:

It's so fantastic! To play along with our challenge simply create a layout inspired by this board. I took inspiration from the space theme. I started with the Explore 12x12 patterned paper and then cut out the Stitching Starburst cut file from white cardstock. I used three different colors of We R Memory Keepers twine and hand stitched the sunburst. I added my photo with some of layers and stars

For my title, I used another great cut file - Good Vibes and finished the layout with journaling. Want more inspiration?! Check out the challenge thread here and then share your layout there when you've played along! XOXO

Free File Free-For-All

Happy Monday friends! Today is an awesome day because I get to talk about one of my very favorite parts about scrapbooking - cut files!!! I've had a Cricut cutting machine for over 10 years and I love what I can do with it. And the fact that Paper Issues has free cut files for any and every occasion is just amazing! Check them all out here! If you have a Cricut like me, check out this tutorial to see how you can convert them for easy use with a Cricut.

So I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio Bohemian Dream and the Spread Your Wings cut file for the Free File Free-For-All challenge at Paper Issues. I started with the Kaliedoscope 12x12" patterned paper which has a pretty white washed wood-grain pattern. Then, I cut out the butterfly wreath in white card stock. Next, I cut out individual butterflies in patterned paper and hand stitched them in place. This way they were secure and able to be folded upward to add dimension to the layout. I also had an abundance of phrase stickers from this collection so I added one to the outside of each butterfly.

To play along with this challenge just use one (or more!) PI cut files on a project. It's really that simple. Share it here for a chance to win a PI gift card! Good luck! XOXO

Tell Me A Story

I had so much fun creating this layout for the Tell Me A Story challenge at Paper Issues. I asked my son to tell me 10 things about himself that he would want someone to know about him. I love being able to document memories like these that I know I will be so happy to look back on and read again year after year!

I used Fancy Pants Sweet Nothings - one of my favorite Valentine collection from last year. That bright yellow patterned paper is just the best! Find the collection here in the Paper Issues store.

Do you have a story to tell?! I think we all do. Join us by creating a layout that focuses on journaling. Then share here in our Paper Issues Facebook group. Can't wait to see it! XOXO
