Product Spotlight: Snow and Cocoa

Happy last day of November to you! I've got a product spotlight to share with you today. Since the moment this collection was revealed I have been so excited. I love love love it! It's a whimsical, pastel crazy, winter line - a breakthrough from the traditional reds and greens.  Crate Paper never dissapoints! So on the Paper Issues blog today we've got some amazing creations. Here's mine!

I accented the tree paper with pom pom balls. This whimsical touch is my favorite. I also used the chipboard stickers, thickers and phrase stickers from this line. I hope you like!

Don't forget to head to the PI blog and see all the Design Team's layouts. And check out Snow and Cocoa in the Paper Issues store!

Scraplift Sunday 11/27

I busted through my stash for this Scraplift Sunday. I used several older Crate Paper and Maggie Holmes' lines which fit perfect with this sweet photo of my son and my dad aka Papa.

I also love how it feels to clean things out that have been hiding away and collecting dust. So the next time you get to scrap, I challenge you to reach for something old and make magic on paper!

Bella Blvd Spotlight

Hello friends! Today at Paper Issues we are having a product spotlight for Illustrate Faith and Bella Blvd! This includes a lot of new lines that are in the store - Bella Blvd has Addison & Alex. New to Illustrated Faith is You Are Loved, CHRISTmas, and Holly Jolly Christmas. You can take a look at all of them here.

I chose to create a layout with Bella Blvd's Alex line. I started with a free cut file in the shop called Circles and Stars. I backed each cut with paper from the Alex 6x8 pad. My favorite parts are the paper pieces and tabbies! I really like this line! The colors are bright and fun. The papers are very versatile, but I would say that the line is perfect for anyone with older boys. A lot of the paper pieces are geared toward teenage boys with cute references to gaming, music, and fast food.

Going Cold Turkey

Today is the day for the 2nd round of Paper Issues' new issue - Going Cold Turkey in November! If you missed Round 1 check it out here

So this month we are challenging you to create a layout with these ideas in mind - Thanksgiving, family time, winter, use snowflakes or snow photos, create a white on white layout, etc. I went for family time and documented our annual trip to pick apples! This is my favorite fall tradition and this year did not disappoint.

I used Shimelle's Go Now Go papers - the apple paper is called Market and the wood grained paper is called Pond. You can find the whole Go Now Go line in the Paper Issues store! Use code RACHEL for 20% off your order.

Now that you've seen mine head over to the blog to see what the other ladies have created! Find it here! And as always - thanks for stopping by!

I used Crate Paper's Snow & Cocoa for my lift. Everything about this collection is absolutely perfect. Here are a few of my faves: The mason jar pockets, the chipboard stickers, and the Cozy paper. If you haven't checked it out yet, you can find it in the Paper Issues store under Crate Paper.

Happy Sunday to you!

The Mix It Up Monday challenges are always so inspiring to me! We seriously have some talented ladies on the Design Team. Do not {I repeat} do not miss today's blog post at Paper Issues. This month's challenge was to use  stamps along with ink and possibly water colors, paste, etc in a layout. The skies the limit! I kept it simple and not so messy as usual. I stamped with black ink and then painted with watercolors. The stamp set is from Studio Calico. I paired this with a line from Photo Play called My Imagination. It's in the store here! It's got some great papers - lego blocks, outer space, and more! Use code RACHEL for 20% off your purchase!

Paper Issues Fall Crop - Day 2

Day 2 of the Paper Issues Fall Crop is almost to a close. We've got one more day to party - Sunday Funday is tomorrow! Here's a round up of today's challenges and my layouts!

Fan Favorites - Over the last month, we asked a variety of questions in our PIFF group and came up with everyone's favorites when it comes to scrapbooking. For this challenge your layout must includes: white cardstock background, only 1 photo, use ephemera, enamel dots (I fudged a little with enamel hearts - shhhh!), color blue, something striped, gold accents,  and 0 - 10 words of journaling.

Bigger is Better - Create a layout with a photo 8x8 or larger!

Are You Afraid of The Dark? - Create a layout using a dark colored cardstock background.
Tic-Tac-Toe - for this challenge pick three items in a row from the tic-tac-toe board {can be found in our PIFF Facebook group here} and use them in your layout.
Falling Leaves Challenge - create a layout where 2/3 of project is negative space.

That's all for today! I'll see you back here tomorrow for one last roundup!

Cut It Up Saturday!

Who's ready for another cut file?! Of course you are! As always, the best part is that Paper Issues' cut files are always free! Who doesn't love free?! In case you missed any of the previous ones you can find them all here! And to read more about this month's cut file and see the other DT layouts click here!

I took my 12x12 Criuct mat and placed four 6x6 papers (from the 6x6 Cool Kid pad) on it. I used the cut file 3 times changing out the 6x6 papers each time. The effect was that I had a lot of different triangles. I arranged them on white card stock - kind of like putting a puzzle together - mixing the patterns and sizes. I added two pictures of my son who just learned to ride his bike without training wheels (GO CJ!) and a few embellishments. The "Be Brave" acetate was especially appropriate as this has been a big step for us in taking off the training wheels! Hope you like!

Paper Issues November Pinspire Me

Hello November and hello Pinspire Me Mood Board! This month has gorgeous colors and hints of pumpkins & leaves. I was inspired by the burgundy color, the leaves, as well as the "lucky girl" saying in the middle. For my layout, I started with Jen Hadfield's Warm and Cozy collection. You can find it in the Paper Issues store under Pebbles. I used the Cozy Comfort paper as well as the backside of the Green Plaid. The beautiful wreath cut file is from Just Nick Studio and is called Floral Wreath 2. I added some stitching and gold sequins too! You can see the other Design Team layouts on the blog today! Stop by and you will definitely be inspired!

November Sketch

It's Sketchy Saturday over at Paper Issues! I had a lot of fun with this month's sketch!  I've been working hard at using up some of the older collections in my stash. This was one of my favorite releases from early summer. For this layout I pulled out Pink Paislee's Outfitters collection. There is still plenty of it in the shop if you missed it the first time!

I used Paper 4 and Paper 12 as my base and then layered with pieces from the 6x6 pad and the ephemera pack. All of the layers in this sketch really make it fun to play with.

Now head over to the blog to see what the other design team members created. You are sure to be inspired! xoxo

Roll the Dice!

The Roll the Dice Challenge at Paper Issues is back again! This month is just perfect! Danielle rolled the dice as usual. The results were two pictures and two wood veneer pieces! Simple and not so much a "challenge" this time. I like it!

I went with Bella Blvd's Alex line and documented my boys' first soccer games of the season. I used my Cricut and cut out the word soccer with the Group Text paper. I then hand stitched around each letter! It was fun and helped pass the time on a long drive! The background paper is Beast Mode. I then embellished the photos with lots of pieces from the Alex die cut pack.

If you haven't seen the Alex line click here to see it in the store. Use code RACHEL for 20% off! And click here to see today's blog post and how the rest of the design team conquered this challenge.

I layered the back of the cut file with pieces from the 6x6 pad. I finished it off with some roses, doillies, and thickers! Hope you like it!
