Getting Messy With Scraplift Sunday

Today we are lifting an awesome layout Stacie on our Design Team created for Mix It Up Monday. You can find it here!

For my layout, I took a piece of white 12x12 card stock and sprayed it in rows with Heidi Swapp color shine - I used these five colors: sweet cherry, navy, teal, mustard and amethyst. After it dried, I used it to cut out one of Paper Issues free cut files - Falling Stars. I then arranged the cut out stars in a sweeping motion up the page lining them up in order by color as well as mixing in smaller and larger stars. It pairs perfectly with Amy Tangerine's Oh Happy Life embellishments. It was a lot of fun to get messy and create something different than my usual. Thanks for the inspiration Stacie!

The Unbe-leafable Great Outdoors

I played along with Paper Issue's The Unbe-leafable Great Outdoors Challenge with this layout. Check out everyone's great projects here: http://paperissues.blogspot.com/2016/09/new-issue-unbe-leafable-great-outdoors_19.html

For my layout, I used paper and tags from Shimelle's new Go Now Go line! It's great for fall and travel themed layouts. You can find it here at Paper Issues. http://paperissuesstore.myshopify.com/collections/shimelle

I used my Cricut to cut out a large heart and layered the outline of the heart with beautiful leaves from Studio Calico. For my abundance of photos, I created four 6x6 collages with PicFrame and layered them under the heart. Happy Fall!

And I'm most excited about Shimelle's Go Now Go line! I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but once I saw it in person I loved it! It's been a lot of fun to play with! It has a lot of great primary colors that work well for every day stuff and hints of red and yellows that work great for fall too! And of course - a lot of it is travel themed.

Thanks for stopping by! And don't forget you can get 20% off your Paper Issues order with the code Rachel!

Paper Issues Roll The Dice Challenge

Oh my goodness -  this was a fun challenge! One of our Design Team members, Danielle, rolled the dice twice (and even videoed it) to create the challenge. The first roll was for the numbers of pictures to be used in the layout - two. The second roll was for the number of patterned papers to be used - five. I chose to use Crate Paper's Cool Kid. I love the embellishments and the stamped stars on the white card stock.

Check out the other DT layouts here. And don't forget to play along with us in our Paper Issues Friends & Fans group!

Paper Issues Mix It Up Monday

Hi friends! I'm so excited to share this layout with you today. This is my first attempt at using mixed media with scrapbooking. The challenge was to take paper or scraps and apply mixed media - ink, paste, spray etc to it. Then, using punches or a cutting machine cut out some sort of shape for a background affect. To be honest, I struggled with it a bit as this style is totally out of my comfort zone. But I'm always up for a challenge! I actually threw my first layout away and started over and came up with this which I love!

So here's my process. I took a 12x12 sheet of white card stock. First I took, a red stamp pad and pressed it down onto the paper  repeatedly - covering the entire page. Then I sprayed yellow and gold Heidi Swapp Color shine all over the page on top on the ink. Once it dried it turned out beautiful! A deep red with gold flakes shining too! Then I used my Cricut to cut out several hexagons for the background. The rest of the layout is made with Crate Paper's Cool Kid. You can find it in the Paper Issues store and get 20% off your order with the code RACHEL!

Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday

Another Sunday is upon us. Hopefully you can find some time to relax, regroup for the new week ahead and scrap, of course! Here's my take on this Sunday's lift! I've been going through my stash lately. I have several (like 5!!!) Iris boxes full of older collections which still have so many great papers and embellishments. This one is Echo Park's Pirate's Life. It's bright, colorful and perfect for documenting a little boy's 6th birthday!

You can check out the other lifts by the design team here in our Facebook group - Paper Issues Friends & Fans. And check out all the posts and challenge's when have going on this month! There is so much inspiration and even opportunities to win PI gift cards!
Happy Sunday!

Paper Issues Pawsitively Pets

Good morning! Well, we don't have pets in our home, but that didn't stop me from participating in the Paper Issues Pawsitively Pets challenge! My boys (especially CJ) LOVE penguins! Unfortunately, our zoo doesn't have any, but we got to see some on our recent visit to the Saint Louis Zoo. We actually visited the Penguin exhibit three different times in one day!  As a side note - the Saint Louis Zoo is the most beautiful and well thought out zoo I have ever been to!
For my layout, I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe. Find the shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheCutShoppe
Ashley's shop is hands down my favorite place to get cut files from. For the paper and embellishments, I used Crate Paper's Cool Kid. For the challenge, we were to use something new and something you've been hoarding. The Crate Paper line is my "new" and my hoarding is the bright yellow enamel stars from Studio Calico. Hope you like!
